AICON-BIO® Anaplasma spp. Real-time PCR Kit

$338.00$672.00

The AICON-BIO® Anaplasma spp. Real-time PCR Kit provides a fast, accurate and reliable method for detecting Anaplasma spp. nucleic acid using real-time PCR technology. Validated on whole blood, spleen, tissue from cattle, sheep, dogs. The lyophilized one-step qPCR mix stays stable during transport and storage without a cold chain. Available in 48T and 96T.

Description

The AICON-BIO® Anaplasma PCR Kit is a lyophilized, one-step real-time PCR assay for the qualitative detection of Anaplasma spp. nucleic acid in whole blood, spleen and tissue samples from cattle, sheep, dogs and horses. Supplied in 48T and 96T, it runs on any real-time PCR instrument and returns a result in about 75 minutes.

Why this kit

Why laboratories choose this Anaplasma PCR kit

AmbientNo cold chain to runLyophilized reaction tubes ship and handle at ambient temperature — no dry ice, no thaw cycles.
~75 minSample-to-answerA single 45-cycle FAM programme; results read automatically by the instrument software.
2Pipetting stepsReconstitute, add 5 µL template, run. Primers, probe, enzyme and dNTPs are already in the tube.
OpenAny qPCR platformABI, Bio-Rad, Roche, QIAGEN, Agilent and others — no proprietary instrument required.

Intended use

What the Anaplasma PCR Kit detects

Real-time fluorescent PCR for the in vitro qualitative detection of Anaplasma spp. nucleic acid in blood, spleen and other samples from cattle, sheep, dogs and horses. Intended for molecular detection and differential diagnosis of animal anaplasmosis, including bovine Anaplasma marginale, ovine Anaplasma, canine Anaplasma platys and Anaplasma phagocytophilum.

Clinical context. Anaplasmosis — a tick-borne rickettsial disease causing fever, severe anaemia, jaundice, abortion and production loss across cattle, small ruminants, horses and dogs.

Workflow

Four steps from extract to result

  1. Extract nucleic acid with any commercial extraction kit.
  2. Reconstitute one lyophilized tube with the supplied buffer, mix, spin briefly.
  3. Combine 20 µL reconstituted reagent + 5 µL template (or control) = 25 µL reaction.
  4. Run the FAM-channel cycling programme; the instrument software reads the result.

Thermal cycling programme

CyclesTemperatureTime
1 cycle50 °C10 min
1 cycle95 °C3 min
45 cycles95 °C15 sec
 60 °C (FAM read)30 sec

Set the reaction volume to 25 µL and select the FAM channel. On ABI systems leave the analysis threshold at its default value of 0.2.

Result interpretation

Reading the run

Ct valueInterpretation
Ct < 37Positive
37 ≤ Ct < 45Suspicious — retest with a fresh sample
No CtNegative
Run validity. The negative control must show no amplification and the positive control a clear amplification curve. If the negative control amplifies, suspect contamination and repeat; if the positive control fails, the run is invalid.

Sample handling

Specimen collection & storage

TissueGreen-bean-sized piece into a 1.5 mL tube with 500 µL preservation solution; grind with a disposable pestle; centrifuge 1 min; take the supernatant.
Whole bloodCollect into an EDTA anticoagulant tube.
SerumAllow the blood to clot or centrifuge at low speed; collect the supernatant.
SwabSmear the sampling site, place the tip into a 1.5 mL tube with 500 µL preservation solution; grind a few seconds; centrifuge 1 min; take the supernatant.

Storage & stability

Lyophilized reagents ship at room temperature — no cold chain required. On arrival, store the lyophilized reagents at −20 °C; liquid reagents below 4 °C. Stable until the expiry date printed on the label. Keep the tubes sealed in their aluminium pouches to prevent moisture uptake and bring them to room temperature before use. Once reconstituted, seal tightly, store at −20 °C and use within one month.
